Incumbent operator Makedonski Telekom (MakTel) has reportedly signed up 70,000 subscribers to its ‘MaxTV’ branded IPTV services, achieving the milestone four years after launching the commercial offer. MakTel closed out 2012 with a total of 66,541 IPTV users, up 66% on the 40,129 users reported at 31 December 2011. In terms of net additions in fiscal 2012, the telco said that around 11% (or 2,905) of MaxTV clients are hooked up to a fibre-optic connection.
