LTE network available to 50%

Following recent upgrade work to its infrastructure, Polish cellco Polkomtel’s 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network now has coverage of 50% of the population: when it launched in October 2012, coverage was 35%. The same development boosted its HSPA/HSPA+ footprint from 87% to 93%. In a press release, Polkomtel, which offers services under the ‘Plus’ brand added that it ended to extend the reach of LTE to 66% by the end of 2014, reaching 99% with HSPA+ at the same date.
