Turk Telekom sees 2012 revenues increase 6.4% to TRY12.7bn

Turk Telekom has announced that its revenues for the twelve months ended 31 December 2012 reached TRY12.7 billion (USD7.2 billion), an increase of 6.4% year-on-year. EBITDA edged up 0.4% to TRY5.1 billion, while operating profit decreased 2.9% to TRY3.4 billion. CAPEX for the period under review was TRY2.4 billion.

In operational terms, Turk Telekom’s broadband customer base rose to seven million by 1 January 2013, up 2.9% from 6.8 million a year earlier. In contrast, fixed PSTN lines fell from 15.0 million to 13.6 million. Turk Telekom’s mobile unit Avea saw its subscriber base grow 5.7% y-o-y to 13.5 million; of these, 7.5 million were on pre-paid plans.
