Telia reports LTE usage surge

6 Feb 2013

Telia Denmark has reported a surge in traffic over its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network following a software update that enabled users of the Apple iPhone 5 handset to connect to the cellco’s 4G network for the first time. From 28 January – the first day that Telia’s iPhone 5 users were able to update to iOS 6.1 – until 3 February, data traffic over the company’s LTE network increased by approximately 40%. Telia launched its 4G network in December 2010.
