Liberty Global eyeing Virgin Media?

US cable holding group Liberty Global Inc (LGI) is reportedly preparing an offer for UK cableco Virgin Media, the Financial Times claims. Citing ‘several people familiar with the situation’, the report suggests that LGI could make a bid for Virgin Media within the next few days. In the wake of the report, Virgin Media confirmed that it is in discussions with LGI concerning a possible transaction, thought it offered no further details, only stating that ‘any such transaction would be subject to regulatory and other conditions’.
