Uzbek internet service provider (ISP) Sarkor Telecom has shut down its Pre-WiMAX network, blaming rising costs for the closure, UzReport writes. The network, which covered the capital Tashkent, used 3.5GHz frequencies and was provided by Cambridge Broadband Network Ltd (CBNL). The rising cost of supporting the platform has led Sarkor to abandon the network to fall back on its FTTx and ADSL services.
