The UK’s largest cellco by subscribers, EE, has expanded its Long Term Evolution (LTE) network coverage to include an additional nine towns and cities. The expansion lifts the overall coverage of the company’s 4G network to 45% of the country’s population just 90 days after EE launched services over the network. EE’s rivals are awaiting the outcome of a 4G spectrum auction before they can launch LTE services, bidding for which began on 24 January.
