31 Jan 2013

Cyprus’s second largest cellco by subscribers, MTN, and the country’s largest alternative fixed line telco, PrimeTel, have signed a collaboration deal. PrimeTel, in its capacity as a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), will use MTN’s HSPA+ mobile network for its wireless service, while MTN will use PrimeTel’s international fixed line infrastructure for broadband services. Commenting on the deal, MTN’s CEO Peter Verkade said: ‘[The] deal proves that modern companies can function in an efficient and competitive way’.
