Four 4G licences likely to be awarded

30 Jan 2013

According to a senior official from the Slovenian telecoms regulator APEK, quoted by news site SeeNews yesterday, the interest shown so far in 4G mobile spectrum in Slovenia indicates that up to four licences could be issued. The market is home to four mobile network operators, two of which, Si.Mobil and Telekom Slovenije, have already begun LTE deployment in the 1800MHz band. The process for auctioning new 4G frequencies is expected to get underway by the end of this year.
