28 Jan 2013

According to a report by Agence Ecofin, Swedish telecoms vendor Ericsson has been selected by Moov Cote d’Ivoire owner Atlantique Telecom to deploy its previously announced 3G network in Abidjan, San Pedro, Yamoussoukro and Bouake. Under the terms of the contract, Ericsson will deliver a number of RBS 6000 base stations, which include modernised circuits and will aid the operator’s transition to an all-IP network. The rollout is expected to be completed by end-2013. Moov, which launched its GSM-900/1800 services in July 2006, is currently the third largest mobile operator in Cote d’Ivoire, with around 3.85 million subscribers, equivalent to a market share of around 20.7%.
