Columbus’ multi-screen IPTV development supported by SeaWell

24 Jan 2013

Caribbean group Columbus International, which operates triple-play services in several countries under the Flow brand, has selected SeaWell Networks to support its latest IPTV developments. SeaWell’s Spectrum solution will be integrated into Flow’s retail operation, to help deliver its hybrid IP video services, which will include ‘TV Everywhere’ multi-screen services and IP video-on-demand (VoD) offered to more than 450,000 customers across any IP connected device. Columbus chose SeaWell’s platform-based Spectrum Multiscreen 2.0 session delivery controller to simplify its IP video delivery, reduce costs, and enable enhanced adaptive video management. Columbus will also use Spectrum for user data and analytics, quality control, and to re-encrypt content to play on any device.

Columbus (Flow) is a privately held Barbados-based company that provides digital cable television, broadband internet and digital landline telephony services in Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados (via the recent acquisition of TeleBarbados), Grenada and Curacao, and corporate data and cloud based services under the brand Columbus Business Solutions. Through its wholly owned subsidiary, Columbus Networks, the company provides capacity & IP services, corporate data solutions and data centre hosting throughout 25 countries in the greater Caribbean, Central American and Andean region.
