Austrian investment firm Epic has clarified reports of an ownership structure change at Ukrainian telco Ukrtelecom by disclosing that it is the 100% owner of new holding company UA Telecominvest (Cyprus), which on 16 January 2013 acquired 100% of the capital of Epic Services Ukraine (ESU) from the previous holding firm Epic Telecom Invest (Cyprus); therefore the Austrian investor remains the sole controller of ESU’s 92.79% stake in Ukrtelecom. As reported by Interfax-Ukraine, Epic stated that the change in shareholding structure was due to it optimising its holdings for ‘technical reasons’.
