According to local press reports, Indian cellco Videocon is planning to launch Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in the second half of 2013. The mobile operator plans to use spectrum in the 1800MHz band, which it acquired at auction last November. India’s Economic Times notes that the 4G service will be launched in several of India’s telecoms circles, including Jharkhand, Bihar, West and East Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Haryana, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh.
