Orange seeks new horizons

17 Jan 2013

France Telecom-Orange (FT-Orange) has created a subsidiary called Orange Horizons that will ‘seek out new business opportunities in countries where the Group is not already present as a mass-market telecommunications provider’. The telco hopes the unit will provide a new source of revenue without the need of significant investment, via projects such as: the launch of online stores selling telecoms-related equipment or airtime; the introduction of flexible travel solutions; or the launch of a mobile virtual mobile operator (MVNO). The company has already opened e-commerce sites in South Africa and Italy.
