The Indian cabinet has approved a 50% reduction in the base price for CDMA frequencies, Reuters reports citing information and broadcasting minister Manish Tewari. The 800MHz spectrum remained unsold after the auction in November last year, along with 900MHz spectrum in the busiest circles of Mumbai, Delhi, Karnataka and Rajasthan amidst complaints that reserve prices were too high. The government plans to launch a new auction to sell off the remaining spectrum in March.
