14 Jan 2013

Slovakian alternative telco Slovanet has acquired a controlling (50.6%) stake in regional operator MadNet for EUR600,000 (USD800,000), Slovak news agency SITA reports. MadNet has around 4,000 customers in south-eastern Slovakia, operating in cities between Bratislava and Sturovo; it has also launched telephone services and digital television through its own fibre connections, and is also active in the field of data communications. Slovanet intends to expand and integrate MadNet’s existing fibre infrastructure into its own network.
