Orange selects EBlink solution for network expansion

11 Jan 2013

EBlink, a supplier of alternative solutions for base station sites in mobile communication networks, has announced that it recently installed its wireless fronthaul solution in the network of Orange Niger. The solution provides a connection between the base station and the network antenna through a wireless link, helping mobile operators control both operating and capital costs. ‘In addition to a solution that helps get our network expansion up and running sooner than traditional coaxial cable systems, we wanted equipment that would prevent feeder loss and degradation in a hot and humid climate,’ noted Orange Niger`s CTIO Claude Arrigoni. Orange Niger had a total of 1.465 million mobile customers at the end of September 2012.
