Menatelecom signs LTE MoU with Huawei

7 Jan 2013

Bahraini WiMAX-based broadband operator Menatelecom has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China’s Huawei Technologies to roll out a Long Term Evolution (LTE) 4G mobile network. The signing, which occurred in late December 2012, followed Menatelecom’s board of directors approving its planned investment in a nationwide LTE network early that month. Menatelecom intends to offer consumers and businesses mobile broadband speeds of up to 100Mbps as well as advanced voice services across the Kingdom via the new LTE network.
