Greek unbundled local loop (ULL) network operator Hellas Online (HOL) yesterday launched VDSL broadband packages enabling speeds of up to 50Mbps download and 5Mbps upload, available in three double-play bundles featuring fixed line calls to national, international and mobile numbers. Under an initial promotion monthly prices start from EUR30 (USD39.50) per month, while subscribers to cellco Vodafone Greece – HOL’s minority shareholder – receive an additional EUR5 monthly discount and a further discount based on their mobile plan. Last month two other Greek ULL-based telcos ForthNet and Wind Hellas launched VDSL packages after incumbent OTE introduced its commercial wholesale and retail VDSL access offers, while TeleGeography notes that faster-growing ULL network operator Cyta Hellas launched commercial VDSL services in December 2011.
