The United State’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers AT&T Mobility has expanded its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) footprint to four new markets, and boosted population coverage to a total of 160 million citizens. The carrier this week flipped the switch in the markets of Auburn, Ala; Grand Rapids, Mich; Nashua, NH; and Wilkes-Barre, Penn, taking to 113 the areas now served by its LTE signal. However, AT&T Mobility still lags behind its main 4G rival Verizon which now claims coverage of over 440 cities and 200 million Americans. AT&T plans to expand LTE coverage to 250 million people by end-2013 and to 300 million by the end of 2014.
