Triolan, the second largest cable network operator in Ukraine, suffered a 14% quarter-on-quarter drop in its broadband internet subscriber base at the end of September 2012, when it reported a total of 211,000 cable modem customers on its HFC DOCSIS network. Triolan attributed the sudden drop to competition from mobile and wireless internet services, reports Telecompaper quoting Comments.ua. TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Triolan’s broadband customer base was previously showing steady growth, rising from 180,000 at mid-2011.
