Vivendi has received notifications of interest for its 53% stake in Maroc Telecom from Qatar Telecom (Qtel), Etisalat, Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and MTN, reports Reuters citing two people familiar with the matter. The French media giant is looking to raise at least USD5.5 billion (USD7.1 billion) from selling Maroc Telecom, whose operations include the provision of telecoms services in Morocco, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Mali and Mauritania. The report indicates that Vivendi hopes to sign a deal before the end of the first quarter of 2013.
