Northern Swedish fibre broadband provider T3 has partnered mobile broadband operator Net 1 to launch a joint package of fixed internet connection and high speed wireless connectivity over Net 1’s CDMA2000 1xEV-DO Rev A/B network. The service, which is set for commercial launch by the end of this year, promises users an automatic switchover between T3’s home fibre service and Net 1’s CDMA broadband coverage. Umea-based T3 says it currently has more than 25,000 customers spread over 100 metro networks, and also offers dedicated solutions for companies, housing associations and property owners. It intends to become the leading player in metropolitan markets in the north with a target of 50,000 broadband customers by 2015. Net 1 has extensive mobile broadband coverage across Sweden, including rural and remote areas in the north.
