Caribbean cableco Columbus Communications has announced that it is close to launching a hybrid IP video service across the region. Fierce IPTV reports that the company is looking to offer video-on-demand (VoD) and over-the-top ‘TV Everywhere’ services. Columbus operates under the ‘Flow’ brand name in Jamaica, Curacao, Grenada and Trinidad and Tobago. The cableco has signed up Canadian firms UXP Systems and Seawell Networks, MPS Broadband of Sweden and US-based Elemental technologies to provides the user interface (UI), content management software and delivery networks.
