China Mobile revenues grow by 6.4%

China Mobile, the world’s largest cellco by subscribers, has booked operating revenues of CNY408.589 billion (USD64.87 billion) for the nine months to end September 2012, an increase of 6.4% year-on-year. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) dipped by 0.04% y-o-y to CNY187.295 billion, with the EBITDA margin falling by three percentage points over the same period to 45.8% . Profits attributable to shareholders were CNY93.305 billion. The cellco ended the period under review with 698.51 million customers, of which 75.60 million were 3G users. ARPU was flat at CNY67 per user per month, whilst average minutes of usage dropped to CNY515 per month compared to 518 in 1H 2012.
