Telekom Slovenije has issued a tender for the construction of a long-distance fibre-optic cable section in northern Slovenia, from the town of Radlje Ob Dravi on the left bank of the river Drava, to Podvelka on the right bank of the river. Its public request, as published by regulator APEK, includes a call for co-investors to build out and/or lease network capacity and associated infrastructure. The deadline for interested parties to apply is 15 November 2012. Earlier this month Telekom replaced two 20-year old international telephony exchanges in Ljubljana and Maribor with switchboards supporting TDM/VoIP technology, while it also upgraded an existing VoIP exchange in Ljubljana.
