The US-based networking equipment firm Cisco Systems has terminated a long-standing sales partnership with the Chinese vendor ZTE following allegations that ZTE contravened US trade sanctions by supplying Cisco equipment in Iran. According to a report from Reuters, Cisco has decided to end the reseller agreement with ZTE after conducting an internal investigation into the matter. David Dai Shu, a spokesperson for the Chinese company, told Reuters: ‘ZTE is highly concerned with the matter and is communicating with Cisco. At the same time, ZTE is actively cooperating with the US government about the probe to Iran. We believe it will be properly addressed.’
