Telekom Slovenije begins LTE preparations, USD3.2m budgeted this quarter

Telekom Slovenije has reported to the Slovenian stock exchange that its supervisory board has given the go-ahead to begin the initial stage of Long Term Evolution (LTE) network deployment, with a budget of EUR2.5 million (USD3.2 million) for the remainder of this year. The first phase will involve upgrading the operator’s mobile core network and 4G radio access coverage deployed using its existing 1800MHz frequency bands.
