Vodafone Greece has begun using spectrum in the 900MHz band for the provision of 3G services, becoming the first Greek operator to do so. According to the cellco the move means improved coverage and a better quality of signal indoors for its subscribers. The initial investment relates to developing its networks in the regions of Peloponnese, Sterea Ellada and Western Greece, but will soon extend to cover the entire country. Vodafone Greece also revealed that is in the process of developing a 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network, although no further details were provided.
