NII Holdings expands contract with Astellia

28 Sep 2012

French monitoring solutions provider Astellia has announced that its existing contract with US-based NII Holdings has been expanded to cover the recently launched next generation network (NGN) of the latter’s Mexican subsidiary, while it will encompass NII’s Brazilian NGN when that launches later this year. Under the updated agreement between NII and Astellia, the latter will provide its end-to-end probe-based solution throughout all of NII Holdings’ next generation wireless networks in Brazil, Chile, Mexico and Peru. Astellia claims that its solution will provide NII with a deeper understanding of the dependency among network equipment, subscribers, mobile devices and voice and data services, while insights gathered from the probe-based solution will allow optimisation and engineering teams to quickly isolate issues affecting customer experience and identify root causes.

‘Astellia has established a solid reputation within the five Latin American markets of NII Holdings by monitoring and optimising all of our next generation networks. Astellia’s monitoring solution is a key contributor in helping NII optimise and monetise traffic in a particularly complex multi-technology and multi-vendor environment,’ said Don McElroy, vice president of budget and performance at NII Holdings.
