Pakistan’s cellcos claim to have incurred losses of PKR600 million (USD6.25 million) in lost revenues thanks to a forced suspension of wireless networks for 14 hours last week. Pro Pakistani reports that the cellcos were told by authorities to cease wireless operations for security reasons in 15 population rich cities. The blackout was the second in as many months, following an earlier forced shut down during a major religious festival which usually sees a significant increase in mobile traffic.
