BroadbandTVNews reports that cable operator UPC Hungary has entered the mbile virtual network operator (MVNO) space with the launch of a dongle-based mobile broadband internet service – branded UPC mobilinternet. The cableco is using Vodafone Hungary as the host for the new service which promises a maximum 7.2Mbps (download) connection and ‘unlimited’ data caps of either 1.3GB or 6GB. The new MVNO is also looking to use Vodafone’s HSPA+ capabilities to boost residential downloads to 21.1Mbps – if needed – and says its business customers will also be able to take the higher connectivity option. UPC mobilinternet for businesses will be offered in 4GB and 8GB bundles and all plans can be accessed via both laptops and tablets.
