Telecom Namibia sets up international PoPs on WACS route

13 Sep 2012

Telecom Namibia is in the process of setting up four international Points of Presence (PoPs) along the WACS undersea cable route, which entered service in May, reports DatacenterDynamics. The Namibian telco’s PoPs will be located in Cape Town, Johannesburg, Frankfurt and London and will be deployed by NewTelco South Africa and its affiliate Jasco Co-location Solutions. The PoPs will be for exclusive use by Telecom Namibia, allowing it to launch new services. The Namibian firm will use NewTelco’s infrastructure, including data centres, until dedicated equipment can be built.
