The Peruvian parliament has passed a law establishing the right to fixed number portability (FNP) reports TeleSemana. The new system is due to be implemented by July 2014; previous plans had sketched out an early 2014 date, though this was pushed back to allow operators time to meet technical requirements. As noted by TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, mobile number portability (MNP) was introduced in January 2010 after congress voted for its implementation in March 2007.
