The Zimbabwean mobile operator Telecel has intensified its ongoing network expansion, with the aim of achieving 85% population coverage by the end of 2012. A report from News Day quoted new Telecel CEO Francis Mawindi, who said that the firm would be spending USD70 million on the expansion of its cellular networks this year. ‘Telecel is committed to promoting mobile communication throughout the length and breadth of the country,’ he said.
