China Telecom to set up global unit

China Telecom Corporation has announced plans to set up a new subsidiary in Hong Kong, dubbed China Telecom Global Ltd, to be tasked with boosting its overseas business, reports China Daily. The company, which has regional subsidiaries in 26 countries, said in a statement: ‘The establishment of China Telecom Global Ltd is an important strategic decision. It will help China Telecom step up the pace of overseas expansion and lift our capability of providing services globally.’
