The Financial Times writes that China’s largest fixed line carrier by revenues, China Telecom, is planning to increase its economic activity in Latin America’s largest economy, Brazil. It is understood that along with affiliate China Comservice, the telco is setting up offices in Sao Paulo to provide internet, data and outsourcing services, as part of plans to secure a bridgehead in the country ahead of Brazil’s hosting of the soccer World Cup in 2014 and the Olympic Games two years later.
