Sunrise revenues dip 1.8%

22 Mar 2012

Swiss triple play provider Sunrise has reported revenues of CHF1.984 billion (USD2.178 billion) for the full year 2011, and CHF529 million for the three months ended 31 December 2011. Annual revenues were down by 1.8% compared 2010, Sunrise attributed the fall to a CHF76.1 million drop in income from wholesale hubbing services. Quarterly revenues, meanwhile were up by 1.5% year-on-year. Mobile revenues for the year were up by CHF87.3 million to CHF1.293 billion, largely offsetting the decreasing revenues from landline voice services. Full year income from fixed internet services dropped by 0.4% to CHF176.3 million, attributable to a reduction in monthly ARPU from CHF37.0 to CHF35.9.

Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) for 2011 were CHF607.6 million, with an EBITDA margin of 30.6%, up from CHF537.3 million and 26.6% in 2010. Sunrise’s mobile subscriber base increased to 2.116 million by end-2011 (up 5.0% y-o-y), whilst fixed internet subscriptions rose to 371,000 (+3.6%).
