Changing roams; Entel splashes out on makeover for cell towers

18 Nov 2011

Entel Chile will spend USD45 million to improve the appearance of 400 of its towers in urban, residential areas over the next five years, reports the Santiago Times. The masts scheduled to be renovated are in the La Florida, La Pintana, Puente Alto, San Bernardo, Estacion Central and Las Condes areas of Santiago. The telco announced its plans in September this year, calling for artists to submit their designs. Architect Pablo Allard and Patricia Ready selected the final eight designs that would be used for the mast make-overs; the winners included both Chilean and international architects, artists and designers.
