A joint venture formed by Norway’s Telenor group and Bain Capital has pulled out of the race to buy Polish cellco Polkomtel, sources close to the sale are quoted as saying. This follows the withdrawal of Swedish telecoms group TeliaSonera earlier this week and leaves only Polish media mogul Zygmunt Solorz-Zak and private equity group Apax still in the running.
