Filipino operator Globe Telecom has increased its international network capabilities by activating its capacity on the Unity Cable System (UCS) ‘to serve the growing data needs of enterprises and large corporations.’ UCS is a trans-Pacific cable spanning 9,620km between Japan and the US. In a statement Globe said the network, which has capacity of 960Gbps, currently ‘has one of the lowest latencies across the Pacific and provides direct connections for internet traffic between Asia and the United States’.
