Vodafone Essar selects Wipro for fixed line support services

India-based IT solutions and services provider Wipro Technologies has been selected by local mobile network operator Vodafone Essar to support its business-orientated fixed line services. The three-year deal will see Wipro provide a wide range of services, including network design and build, integration with existing IT applications and managed services, while it will also construct an enterprise network operation centre to manage the operations of Vodafone Essar’s business customers. Commenting on the development, Naveen Chopra, director of enterprise and carrier business for Vodafone Essar, said: ‘We expect our partnership with Wipro to provide more value to our enterprise customers through increased operational efficiency and cost optimisation. Through this partnership, we hope to bring an innovative approach to servicing the Enterprise telecoms market and also enhance our business revenues.’ No financial details of the agreement have been disclosed.
