According to local press reports, Paraguayan telecoms regulator Conatel has announced that it expects the final rules for the implementation of mobile number portability (MNP) to be approved by December 2010. Conatel’s website confirms that the regulator has initiated the process to develop rules for MNP, and that the final decision will be made following a public consultation on the matter. Conatel assesses that ‘technical specifications’ and ‘network management solutions’ need to be determined before the final implementation of MNP is approved.
