Telefonica O2 Czech Republic (O2 CR) has revealed plans to extend its 3G network coverage to 37 new locations in the Czech Republic by the end of October 2010. The cellco’s director of voice and data services, Petr Matejovsky, said: ‘We will bring fast mobile internet to inhabitants of 37 new cities by the end of October. In total 69 Czech cities representing 40% of the population will be covered by the 3G signal. Therefore, we remain the number one in the [market in terms of] 3G coverage.’ The operator’s 3G network currently covers the cities and environs of: Praha, Brno, Ceske Budejovice, Plzen, Karlovy Vary, Usti nad Labem, Liberec, Hradec Kralove, Pardubice, Jihlava, Olomouc, Ostrava and surrounding region, Zlin, Kladno, Rokycany, Zdar nad Sazavou, Frydek-Mistek, Beroun, Nymburk, Jesenik, Pisek, Sumperk, Litomerice, Strakonice, Decin, Kolin, Kutna hora, Teplice, Jablonec nad Nisou, Havirov, Bruntal, Novy Jicin, Chrudim, Havlickuv Brod, Tabor, Most, Mlada Boleslav and Trinec.
