UK-based TalkTalk Group, which offers fixed line broadband and voice services, has announced a deal with the wholesale arm of mobile network operator Vodafone UK which will see the former launch mobile voice services. The two companies have signed a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement which will see TalkTalk introduce post-paid mobile voice tariffs in addition to mobile broadband with a view to expanding its existing product range. The new services are expected to launch in the third quarter of 2010. Commenting on the development, Charles Dunstone, TalkTalk chairman, said: ‘Over the last five years, TalkTalk Group has invested over GBP1 billion (USD1.56 billion) to transform the UK broadband and voice market into one of the most vibrant and good value in the world. Our customers tell us that they expect the same value from their mobile services that they’ve come to expect from their home phone and broadband, so that’s what we intend to provide. We’ve chosen Vodafone as our network partner as they have a proven network and a track record of success with their MVNOs.’
