iiNet launches IPTV service

7 Jul 2010

Australian ISP iiNet has announced it has launched an IPTV service in partnership with Fetch TV. The offering, called fetchtv 2, can stream digital TV, movies, games and music via a customer’s broadband connection using a set top box which doubles as a personal video recorder (PVR). The service was originally planned to launch in early 2009, but this was delayed until March 2010 and then delayed further until now. Rival ISP Internode says it too is working with Fetch TV with a view to launching an IPTV service, and that it is in the process of gauging interest for the product.
