Sibirtelecom net profit up 14.3% in 2009

Russian regional operator Sibirtelecom has posted net profit of RUB2.4 billion (USD80 million) for the year ended 31 December 2009, up 14.3% year-on-year. Revenues for the period grew marginally, up 1.3% to RUB28 billion while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) jumped by 18.3% to RUB10 billion. The Svyazinvest subsidiary said that it planned to continue the development of broadband services in 2010, fundamentally through the deployment of FTTx networks.
