Brazilian telco and ISP Global Village Telecom (GVT) expects to launch fixed voice and broadband internet telecoms service in Fortaleza, in Ceara state, in a month. BNamericas cites a company statement saying GVT plans to invest a total of BRL62.5 million (USD34.4 million) in 2010 to kick off its initial services in the city. The operator intends to have its network fully deployed by April, with coverage of 30% of the city and 75,000 fixed line voice and broadband accesses available. Going forward, its infrastructure will be gradually expanded as demand dictates. GVT currently provides services in 86 cities across the country. In Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, GVT focuses on the corporate segment.
