Indian mobile network operator Sistema Shyam TeleServices (SSTL), which operates under the MTS India banner, has launched commercial CDMA-based services in the Mumbai circle, Telecom Talk reports. The launch brings the number of circles where the cellco has inaugurated its mobile voice services to ten, while it also announced that customers in Mumbai will be able to sign up for its EVDO Data (MBlaze) mobile internet services. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database, SSTL now offers services in Calcutta, West Bengal, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Bihar, Jharkhand, Karnataka and Delhi, and at end-September 2009 it had 1.96 million subscribers.
