TD-SCDMA users ‘may exceed 100 million in two years’, official says

Users of the homegrown Chinese 3G standard TD-SCDMA are expected to exceed 100 million in two years, according to Yang Hua, Secretary General of the TD-SCDMA Industry Alliance. Hua was speaking at the 2009 Sino-Japan TD-SCDMA Collaboration Conference, which is working towards promoting TD-SCDMA cooperation between the two countries. According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), there are currently more than 1.2 million TD-SCDMA users on China Mobile’s network.
